Does your answers wiki use achievements? Have you found it a good way to encourage good editing? Has it maybe encouraged more vandalism? Would you recommend their use to other answers wikis. Tell your experience bellow.

Our Final Fantasy Answers wiki used achievements for a while but in the long run the community decided that there was little use for them. I've seen achievements work well on bigger, non-Answers Wikis, but when the purpose of an Answers wiki is to give answers (duh)  it seems like a distraction to reward contributors for adding unnecessary images/categories/edits etc.

It's pretty useless since it's always the same editors. I was cleaning an answers wiki and at the end of the day, I was on the top of the achivements for tagging bad questions.

On Wikianswers, I am not me will just get all of the achivements done with his daily work.

I came to become against the idea of Achievements because some anons or users would go out of their way to create pointless questions and add unessercary pictures and so forth just to gain an achievement, in order to prevent spam i decided to disable the achievement system.

Yeah, that's also a reason.

To tell the truth, the Fallout Answers Wiki has been locked so that only logged in users can ask/answer a question. It is due that most of the anons spam/vandalise.

Well, that's a way to do it.
